Governor Joet Garcia attended the commissioning ceremony of the 53-megawatt Samal Solar Power Plant on July 1, 2025, in Brgy. Gugo, Samal. The facility was developed by Samal Solar Renewable Energy Corp. in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Samal.
The newly commissioned solar plant is expected to contribute significantly to the country’s energy supply while boosting local economic development in Bataan.
In his message, Governor Garcia emphasized the importance of the project, “The 53-capacity of the solar plant would significantly contribute to our local energy supply while helping reduce the province’s carbon footprint.”
Also present at the ceremony were Samal Mayor Alex Acuzar, Samal Solar Renewable Energy Corp. President Mylene Ting, Department of Energy Assistant Secretary Mylene Capongcol, Bataan 1st District Chief of Staff Migs Simsuangco, Vivant Energy Group President Emil Andre Garcia, TIPCO Group Willy Chua and Solenergy Systems Inc. President Thomas Peebles.
This milestone marks another step forward in the province’s commitment to promoting sustainable and renewable energy solutions.
